About the event

CFHRS Vice-President Bill Puckett will be discussing the different passenger trains in the "Streamliner Era," that ran from the 1930s through the 1960s, bringing thousands of passengers to Florida's sunshine for vacations.  Most were brought from the Northeast and Midwest parts of the country on a number of railroads, and most went through Jacksonville where cars were switched among trains for both east and west coast Florida destinations.  That ballet worked in reverse each day for the northbound trains.  Part 1 on October 9th will feature an overview of all the trains and railroads involved, with a focus on the Streamliners of the Seaboard Airline Railway in 1963. A short business meeting will precede the presentation. Free admission, no reservation required.
